# Keyboard doesn't return to your app on iOS 26.4

> Fix the Superwhisper keyboard not returning you to your app on iOS 26.4. Swipe back manually after you start dictation.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This page applies only to Superwhisper on iOS. macOS and Windows are not affected.

## The fix

After you tap the Superwhisper keyboard button to start dictation, swipe back to your app yourself. iOS 26.4 no longer lets third-party keyboards return you to the previous app automatically.

## What changed

Apple's iOS 26.4 update changed how third-party keyboards work. Superwhisper used to return you to your app after you started dictation. That behavior is no longer available.

Your [modes](https://superwhisper.com/docs/modes/modes.md) still work as before. This includes **Message**, **Mail**, **Note**, and any custom modes.

> Explore the [built-in modes](https://superwhisper.com/docs/modes/modes.md) to find the ones that fit your common tasks. You can also [create custom modes](https://superwhisper.com/docs/modes/custom.md) for specific workflows.

## FAQ

> [accordion] Do these changes affect macOS or Windows?
>
> No. These are iOS-specific platform changes. Features like auto-activation rules continue to work on macOS and Windows.

> [accordion] I'm seeing unexpected behavior beyond what's described here
>
> Email \[[support@superwhisper.com](mailto:support@superwhisper.com)]\(mailto:[support@superwhisper.com](mailto:support@superwhisper.com)) with your iPhone model, iOS version, and Superwhisper version. A short screen recording helps if you can include one.

> [accordion] Can I report this to Apple?
>
> Yes, and we encourage it. The more people report the issue, the more likely Apple is to address it. File feedback in Apple's [Feedback Assistant](https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/). Consider referencing feedback ID **FB22247647**, which tracks the underlying `hostApplicationBundleID` bug affecting third-party keyboards.
